How do you know if he really loves you?

Remember that ancient Whitney Houston jam, "How do I know if he really loves me?" While it may have been over 20 years ago when this song came out, the same questions remain in the minds of single ladies. There's more to love than "put(ting) a ring on it," and here's some tell-tale signs that he may love you:

He is nice to your friends. We're not saying he has to cook them dinner, but, when a guy does simple things - such as striking up a conversation, offering to help your friends in bringing up the groceries - it shows that he wants to make a positive impression on you.

He introduces you to his folks - Families are the toughest critics. When a guy is confident enough to introduce you to his family, it typically means that he respects you and wants to get their approval of his decision to heart you.

He wants to meet your folks - When a guy asks to meet you folks, it means that he's ready to be scrutinized by those you love the most (and that he wants to lay the groundwork for a long relationship).

He doesn't freak out over womanly issues - Enough said.

He makes you feel beautiful - Telling a girl that she's beautiful is one thing, but making her feel beautiful (make-up off and all) is another. Any guy who makes you truly feel beautiful and confident is a keeper!

He knows (and loves) your quirks - When a guy finds your obnoxious laugh or Flintstone feet adorable, again, this is a keeper.

He shares his insecurities with you - From the dawn of the stone ages, men were taught to be stoic creatures to protect the den, with their sole function of hunting and gathering. While things have changed a bit (women are now hunters and gatherers too!), men still remain stoic. When a guy actually can break down and share his emotions and feelings with you, this is a place of trust.

He says "I love you." Unless you've pressured him into saying these three simple words, believe him and always enjoy the way they roll of his tongue.
